Rolo is a brand name of frustoconical chocolate with a caramel core. It is generally produced by Nestlé , but has been under license from the Hershey Company in the US since 1969 . In the American version, the caramel is thick and tough and not runny like in other countries.

history

Rolos were developed and introduced in England in 1932 . They came to Germany in 1952 under the Choc-o-Roll brand . In 1971, the name was also changed to Rolo in Germany .

Until the 1980s, Rolo was also available in Germany with a peppermint-toffee filling. The roll paper had a dark green base color.
