Roman Heiligenthal

Roman Heiligenthal (born July 3, 1953 in Erzhausen ) is a German Protestant theologian and university professor .

Life

Heiligenthal studied Protestant theology and political science at the Rheinische Friedrich-Wilhelms-Universität in Bonn and at the Ruprecht-Karls-Universität in Heidelberg. After completing his studies, he did his doctorate under Klaus Berger with an investigation into the meaning of human works in the New Testament and early Christianity.

1991 habilitation Heiligenthal for the subject New Testament at the Theological Faculty of the Ruprecht-Karls University in Heidelberg. He then became a professor of Protestant theology at the Protestant University of Freiburg . From 1992 he was Professor of Biblical Studies at the University of Koblenz-Landau on the Landau campus. From 2000 to 2005 he was Vice President and from 2005 to the end of September 2017 President of the University of Koblenz-Landau.
