Ronald Leslie "Ron" Allen (born April 22, 1935 in Birmingham , † August 2006 in Leicester ) was an English football player .
Career
Allen came to Birmingham City from the Ladywood Juniors as an amateur during the 1952/53 season and rose to professional in May 1953. Until his departure in July 1958, however, he stayed without a competitive game at the club from his hometown. For the 1958/59 season , Allen moved to second division Lincoln City . After only two appearances in his first year, Allen established himself in the team's right-back position the following season. After a total of 60 league appearances, his football career came to an abrupt end in December 1960 when he suffered a double broken leg in a home game against Leeds United and was injured for 14 months. He then played no more game for Lincoln and left the club at the end of the 1961/62 season.
