Ronald Eyre
Ronald Eyre (born April 13, 1929 in Mapplewell , United Kingdom, † April 8, 1999 in Painswick , United Kingdom) was a British teacher , actor , screenwriter and film director .
Life
Eyre grew up in Mapplewell, near Barnsley, Yorkshire. He initially worked as a teacher at Queen Elizabeth's Grammar School and at Blackburn and Giggleswick School . He later worked as a film director, screenwriter and actor on British television and film. Eyre is the godfather of British actress Emma Thompson .
