Ronald Jenkees (born March 25, 1988 ) is an American composer and arranger , who became known mainly through YouTube .

biography

According to his own statements, he started playing music at the age of four when he was given a keyboard by his parents during a hospital stay. On this keyboard he learned simple melodies and played with friends. During the seventh grade he took piano lessons, which however did not prove to be successful. Nevertheless, he continued to play on his new Yamaha PSR-500 and began using the keyboard's sequencer and layer functions, with the results of which he created hip-hop music. In high school , even though he was unable to read music, the band leader let him compose his own keyboard pieces. He was also advised to deal with the understanding of notes.

The FL Studio program aroused new enthusiasm in him , with the help of which he began to publish his first pieces under the pseudonym Big Cheez in 2003. Under this name he produced the album straight laced in 2005 . by Fish. In 2006, Ronald began to post the first videos of himself on YouTube , which were initially only intended for fun. He later also published the first pieces, some of which were surprisingly successful and attracted several million hits. He was supported by Attack of the Show! (AOTS) and the Paste Magazine . The breakthrough came when Bill Simmons from ESPN.com reported he and his suggesting its own podcast to conduct.

In 2007 he released his first studio album Ronald Jenkees as a freelance artist .
