Ronald Modras

Ronald Modras (born August 23, 1937 in Detroit - † October 17, 2018 ) was an American theologian .

Modras was from 1988 professor of theology at the University of St. Louis . In 1963 he was ordained a priest. In 1972 he did his doctorate with Hans Küng at the University of Tübingen with a dissertation on Paul Tillich's ecclesiology . “One of my best doctoral students,” wrote Küng in his memoirs of Modras. The Catholic Church and Antisemitism, Poland 1933–1939 is one of his most important books .
