The Ronald Reagan Presidential Library and Museum is the presidential library of Ronald Reagan , the 40th President of the United States . The library is located in the US Simi Valley , California , a few miles northwest of Los Angeles .

When the library opened in 1991, it was the largest presidential library until the William J. Clinton Presidential Center & Park opened in Little Rock , Arkansas in 2004. The library contains over 50 million political records as well as a large number of films and pictures. There are other exhibits such as B. a section of the Berlin Wall , a defused atomic bomb and a replica of the Oval Office on Reagan's last working day.

Adjacent to the library is the Air Force One Pavilion, which opened on October 24, 2005, and in which a modified Boeing 707 can also be admired. In addition to being Reagan's official aircraft, this plane was used by Richard Nixon , Gerald Ford , Jimmy Carter, and George HW Bush . Together with the new pavilion, the Reagan Presidential Library is again the largest (presidential) library in America.

On June 11, 2004, Reagan found his final resting place in the precautionary tomb on the library site. His widow Nancy , who died on March 6, 2016 , was also buried here.
