William J. Clinton Presidential Center & Park
The William J. Clinton Presidential Center & Park is part of the William J. Clinton Foundation and primarily includes the presidential library of Bill Clinton , the 42nd President of the United States.
The building complex was laid out for $ 165 million in a park in Little Rock , Arkansas and was opened on November 18, 2004 in the presence of US President George W. Bush and former Presidents Carter and Bush Sr. opened.
The design by architects James Polshek and Richard Olcott is intended to reflect Clinton's desire to build a bridge into the 21st century. Accordingly, a construction made of glass was integrated into the system, which is intended to suggest a bridge over the Arkansas River .
The library, which also includes a museum, houses nearly 2 million photographs, 76 million pages of books and documents, 21 million emails, and 80,000 gifts or other items from Clinton's presidency. Visitors can find out detailed information about the president's term of office and the biography of the president using multimedia, and can also view true-to-scale replicas of the Oval Office and the cabinet room. The presidential limousine used by Bill Clinton from 1993 to 2001, a Cadillac Fleetwood , can also be viewed in the exhibition.
In addition to the library and museum, the offices of the Clinton Foundation and the University of Arkansas Clinton School of Public Service are also housed on the 12 hectare park-like area.
The ex-president and the construction of the library, which is celebrated for its architecture, gave the town of Little Rock a sharp increase in investment and tourism .
