The Clinton Foundation is a charitable foundation , the former President of the United States , Bill Clinton , founded after his departure from the White House 2,001th The foundation is based in Harlem, New York and is located in the William J. Clinton Presidential Center & Park in Little Rock, Arkansas. In addition to Bill Clinton's presidential library, it primarily includes the Clinton Global Initiative , which is committed to fighting AIDS . Another part of the Clinton Foundation is the Clinton Public School , which embodies Bill Clinton's concern that more young people should become involved in public services.

In mid-2013, the previous William J. Clinton Foundation was renamed the Bill, Hillary & Chelsea Clinton Foundation , thus integrating the entire Clinton family.

From its inception through 2016, the Clinton Foundation raised $ 2 billion, a third of which came from abroad, and has an annual budget of $ 250 million. The foundation primarily initiates its own projects in the areas of climate protection, development aid, women's rights and medical care. She came under fire on various occasions.

In 2016, the German Federal Environment Ministry transferred 4.7 million euros to the Clinton Foundation specifically for its climate protection projects in East Africa. The federal government rejected allegations of partisanship. The foundation also supported various social organizations in Germany, for example the non-profit foundation MyHandicap , which is committed to people with disabilities.
