Ronnie Baker Brooks

Ronnie Baker Brooks (* as Rodney Dione Baker, January 23, 1967 in Chicago ) is an American blues guitarist, singer and songwriter from Chicago ( Chicago Blues , Soul Blues).

Brooks started playing alongside his father, the blues musician Lonnie Brooks , at the age of nine . He learned bass guitar and was in his father's band from 1986 (e.g. Live from Chicago: Bayou Lightning Strikes , Alligator Records 1988). He played with Koko Taylor , Elvin Bishop and Lil 'Ed Williams . From 1998 he performed solo. In the same year his solo album Golddigger appeared on Watchdog Records . This was followed by Take me Witcha (2001) and The Torch (2006), all on Watchdog. In 2017 he released the album Times Have Changed on Provogue .

He lives in Dolton, Illinois .

In 2000 he was nominated for best newcomer at the Blues Music Awards.

Occasionally he performs with a family band with his father and brother Wayne Baker Brooks.
