Ropa valley
The Ropa Valley is a wetland on the island of Corfu . The approximately 1 hectare area was created by draining a lake. It lies in the middle of the island and is criss-crossed by canals and irrigation ditches that direct rainwater into the Ropa River. This in turn flows into the Ionian Sea at Ermones . The Ropa Valley is an important habitat for wild animals, especially birds, amphibians, fish and reptiles. You can find pond turtles and various species of frogs here . But mammals such as weasels , foxes , otters and hedgehogs are also at home in the Ropa Valley.
Golf course
There is a golf course in the Ropa Valley . It is an 18-hole course with a par of 72. The golf course opened in 1971 and was designed by the English architect Donald Leslie Harradine .
