Rosa Crux is a French dark-wave music formation that was founded in 1984 in Rouen . The band combines rock music with neoclassical elements in their works . The liturgical texts and esoteric formulas in Latin as well as the elaborately designed stage shows are also characteristic.

Rosa Crux Danse de la Terre

A Rosa Crux concert is a performance that addresses, among other things, physical pain.

A carillon , as is customary on a church tower, gives the drama something sacred, mechanical tambours and timpani that seem to come straight from Leonardo da Vinci's studio , something mystical. This alludes to the duality of the paradoxes. It is inspired by Antonin Artaud , who denounced the contradictions of the theater.

The group describes their style as "dark ritual, in the industrial sector ". But she is under a great influence of the music of sacred art, as she, like for example Virgin Prunes and The Moon Lay Hidden Beneath a Cloud , focuses on the ritual of paganism in the scene.

In 2008 the DVD Lux In Tenebris Lucet was released , which includes making-of and live videos.
