Rosario Gagliardi

Rosario Gagliardi (* 1698 in Syracuse , † 1762 in Noto ) was an Italian architect and one of the main exponents of the Sicilian Baroque .

He was primarily responsible, comparable to Giovanni Battista Vaccarini in Catania , for the baroque reconstruction of the city of Noto after the earthquake in Val di Noto of 1693. Other important buildings are in Ragusa and Modica .

Gagliardi is often referred to as one of the most original Sicilian baroque architects.
