The Rosbank ( Russian Росбанк ) is a Russian credit institution with headquarters in Moscow .

It was founded in 1992 as Nezavisimost by six financial institutions and integrated into the Interros Group in 1998 . By taking over the OBK banking group in 2003, Rosbank became one of the largest credit institutions in Russia in terms of total assets . As of April 1, 2008, this amounted to 567,343 million rubles . The French bank Société Générale already became the largest shareholder in Rosbank in September 2006 with a 20 percent stake. The stake was increased to 50 percent plus one share in February 2008 and the majority of Rosbank was taken over. In June 2012, Société Générale held an ownership share of 82.4%.

According to its own information, the bank has a branch network of over 600 branches in 71 regions of Russia, through which it offers all banking and financial services to private and business customers. Rosbank has over 3 million private customers, over 60,000 customers in medium-sized companies and over 7,000 customers in large companies. For the 2012 financial year, the bank had total assets equivalent to US $ 25.3 billion.

In May 2013 the CEO of Rosbank, Vladimir Golubkow, was arrested by units of the Russian Ministry of the Interior while making a fake money transfer. The financial institution's senior vice president has also been taken into custody. They were accused of receiving bribes and corruption . On May 27, 2013, Golubkow was released from his position as CEO and dismissed without notice.
