Rosina Anselmi

Rosina Anselmi (born July 26, 1876 in Caltagirone , † May 23, 1965 in Catania ) was an Italian actress .

Life

Anselmi first appeared with her father Alessandro and developed into an instance of Sicilian dialect theater in Catania. Nino Martoglio stood at her side in his plays; she also played with Mimì Aguglia , another great figure in her homeland. In the first years of the 20th century, both of them went on a tour of North America with their ensemble. She then took to the stage with Angelo Musco for around thirty years (she made her first film appearance with the comedian in 1917). Finally, she was seen next to Michele Abbruzzo . Anselmi became known for her rousing sympathy and refreshing self-irony, which she also showed in several films between 1935 and 1942. At the very end of her career, she also did some television duties.
