Ross McKitrick (* 1965 ) is a Canadian economist and author. In 1996 the University of British Columbia awarded him a doctorate in economics (Ph.D. in Economics) . He is a professor at the University of Guelph ( Ontario ) and is a staff member at the think tank Fraser Institute , which actively promotes the denial of man-made warming and including through funding from ExxonMobil , Koch Industries , and Richard Mellon Scaife funded. McKitrick is one of the most famous deniers of global warming .

Together with Stephen McIntyre , Ross McKitrick questioned the validity of the so-called hockey stick diagram from a publication by Michael E. Mann and other authors. On the one hand, this involves the uniqueness of the current warming and the regional spread of the so-called Medieval Warm Period . For this he was invited by Senator Jim Inhofe to testify before the US Senate.
