The Rossa Point is a headland at the Graham Coast of Graham Lands on the Antarctic Peninsula . It is located 3 km northeast of Ferin Head in the southwest part of the Velingrad Peninsula .
Participants of the British Graham Land Expedition (1934-1937) led by the Australian polar explorer John Rymill mapped them. The UK Antarctic Place-Names Committee named her in 1959 after Anders Pavasson Rossa (1844-1917), next to Pava Lars Nilsson Tuorda (1847-1911) one of two Swedish Sami who accompanied Adolf Erik Nordenskiöld on an expedition to Greenland in 1883 , and for the first time the skiing had to be a suitable mode of transport in polar regions to the test.
