episode description
Three guys, one garage Kasi and his two friends Christian and Lars share a motor vehicle workshop in Berlin. But while Christian tries to build a business by trading and repairing classic cars, Kasi lives out his passion for collecting historical objects. Christian's latest find: an Opel Caravan from 1962. If only a confessional from 1895 wouldn't block the space. Kasi has to make room and decides to get rid of part of his beloved collection.
Among spies Kasi and Lars bought the rusty remains of a Peugeot 161 Quadrilette from 1922. They want to make this race-ready for the legendary Race 61 . Christian repairs a '57 Cadillac that could have been a state car and a witness of the Cold War. Kasi learns more about unusual means of the secret service during the Cold War from Heinrich Peyers, who owns one of the world's largest collections of espionage technology.
New game New luck When Kasi and Lars prepare their cars for Race 61, Kasi has to admit that Lars and his Peugeot Quadrilette are a serious competitor. But that's exactly what Kasi needs to repair the engine of his Austin 7 racing car . In addition to an Alfa Bertone, Christian also has a slot machine from 1933, which was disguised as a mini machine and shipped from the USA. Kasi gets to know the expert Marc Wegner through the toy museum Generation 13 of the actor Oliver Korittke, who appreciates the value of the slot machine and other objects from Kasis fundus.
Beyond Eden Kasi receives a package from his father. In addition to the engine and transmission parts for his Austin 7, it also contains a copy of the vehicle registration document for a Dixi BMW coupé. The name Rolf Eden is noted in it. When Kasi discovers an old Dixi in a collection, he tries to find out whether it is actually the lost classic car that Eden gave to a Berlin dancer. Another exciting find is a car owned by referee Ken Aston, who invented the yellow and red card system in this Jaguar, which was first used in 1970.
The British are coming Lars is a real original, but his Peugeot is no longer. The engine comes from an English classic car, the cooling water tank was once a white sausage can. How much original must be, how much forgery is allowed? Kasi is supposed to get a showcase for the supposedly original Lee Hazlewood boots for bar owner Tammi. But are these really the boots that the song These Boots Are Made For Walkin 'was written about ? Kasi definitely wants to have this checked by experts in the Babelsberg studio.
The big race The big day is finally here. Kasi and Lars' old timers now have to show what they can do. Has the stress of the last few weeks been worth it? Only those who have “gasoline in their blood” and “horsepower in their heart” come to Race 61. Surrounded by rockabillys, vintage boys and starter girls, in the smoke of exhaust fumes and the sound of burnouts, Lars' Peugeot is about to celebrate its rebirth. But a tragedy just before take-off: an aerobatic plane crashes in front of the waiting crowd. The race is canceled. What now? The next day the shock is over and Kasi and Lars can compete against each other.

Season 2: In the second season too, Kasi, Christian and Lars have an ambitious goal: They want to make the Peugeot Quadrilette roadworthy and take it to the Côte d'Azur . To make their dream come true, the three boys must first earn money.

Race 61

For 16 years an internationally known meeting of the hot rod and rockabilly scene has been taking place on a disused military airfield north of Berlin . Anything that was built before 1961 can start in the race. It doesn't matter whether it's hot rods, Porsches or motorcycles. The participants from all over Europe compete for two days.
