Rusty Wings is an Austropop hit by Kottan's Kapelle and Hans Krankl from 1984.
Cover version
In 1984 the (fictional) Kottan's band released the album of the same name for the successful television series Kottan determined . Together with Hans Krankl they recorded Rostige Flügel , which was released as a single.
The song made it to number 19 in the Austrian charts and was Hans Krankl's first musical success. For this reason, Hans Krankl describes Lukas Resetarits , for whom Rostige Flügel was the second and last contribution to a hit after his collaboration with Drahdiwaberl ( Lonely ), as his musical discoverer.
Kottan - author Helmut Zenker - was responsible for the German text .

Rusty Wings is a cover version of the song Rusty Old Halo . The original was written by Bob Merrill and published by Mahalia Jackson in 1954 . In 1979, Hoyt Axton recorded the country version of the song that was also used as the template for Rusty Wings , and was able to reach number 27 on the US Country Charts .
