Rostocker Zeitung

The Rostocker Zeitung was a daily newspaper published in Rostock . The Gazette, founded in 1711, was initially published twice a week in the small octave format by the printer Johann Weppling under the title Curieuser Extract der Neuesten Zeitung , from 1757 it was called Extract der Neuesten Zeitung and has appeared four times a week since 1789. In 1846/47 the paper was renamed the Rostocker Zeitung .

The Rostocker Zeitung existed until 1920 (210 volumes in total) as an organ of the liberal bourgeoisie, but was replaced by the Rostocker Anzeiger as the newspaper with the highest circulation in Mecklenburg since 1881 .
