Roswitha Neu-Kock

Roswitha Neu-Kock (* 1946 ) is a German art historian .

Career

After studying art history , classical archeology and history at the University of Münster and the FU Berlin , Roswitha Neu-Kock received her doctorate in Münster in 1974 . She then worked in museums, monument preservation and universities. As a research assistant at the Friends of the Roman Church in Cologne , she was responsible for the publication of the association's yearbooks from 1986 to 1989. From 1989 to 2007 she was in charge of the Rheinisches Bildarchiv in Cologne.

In 2007 she moved to the position newly established by the city as a consultant for provenance research , where she dealt with works of art in Cologne museums that may have been Jewish property or were confiscated during the Nazi era . In this role she was involved in researching the Kokoschka painting Portrait Tilla Durieux , which was restituted to Alfred Flechtheim's heirs in 2013 after lengthy negotiations and a final call from the Limbach Commission .
