Roswitha Schier (born July 14, 1962 in Lübbenau ) is a German politician ( CDU ). She has been a member of the Brandenburg State Parliament since 2004 .

education and profession

Roswitha Schier trained as a nurse at the Cottbus Technical School from 1979 to 1982 and passed her state examination in 1982. After working in the profession she had learned, she was a housewife from 1984 to 1989. From 1989 to 1991 she worked as a saleswoman and from 1991 to 2004 as an employee of a member of the state parliament of the CDU parliamentary group in Brandenburg.

Roswitha Schier is a Roman Catholic, married and has two children.

Roswitha Schier has been a member of the CDU since 1991 and is active in her party in many board positions. Since 1991 she has been a member of the CDU local board of Lübbenau, since 1994 a member of the state board of the CDU Brandenburg and since 1996 a member of the CDU district board of the Oberspreewald-Lausitz district , where she has been the district chairman since 2003.

In terms of local politics, she has been a member of the Lübbenau city council since 1998 and a member of the Oberspreewald-Lausitz district council since 2003.

In the state elections of September 19, 2004, she ran in the state constituency Oberspreewald-Lausitz III / Spree-Neisse III as a candidate and became a member of the state parliament for the first time. As in the state elections in 2009, she entered parliament via her party's state list . From March 6, 2007 to October 6, 2009 she was the parliamentary director of the CDU parliamentary group in the state parliament.
