Basketball department

The basketball department was founded in autumn 1939 and immediately became second in the Württemberg district . The basketball department has the addition of Red Heat Stuttgart . The department is currently headed by Irmengard Rathfelder (as of 2013).

In the 2008/2009 season, the basketball department consisted of three men's teams (regional league, district league and district league B) and two women's teams (upper league and district league). The department is very active in the youth sector and has, in addition to a mini group, teams from several age groups (male: U 12 to U 20, female: U 13 to U 19). The U 18 and U 20 male and the U 17 and U 19 female play in the big leagues. The men's team of the district league consists only of youth players, the majority of the U18 players and some U20 players who complement the team.

The first men's team made it to the Oberliga-Ost in the 2010/2011 season. The three men's teams play in the following leagues in the 2010/2011 season: Oberliga-Ost, Bezirksliga and Kreisliga B.

The first men's team was promoted to the 2nd Regionalliga Südwest-Süd in the 2010/2011 season. After the threat of sporting relegation in the 2011/2012 season, the first men's team was offered a wild card, as one of the sporting climbers in the upper league could not be promoted for financial reasons. However, after a moderate season 2012/2013 riddled with internal club conflicts, the men's team has now finally relegated to the top division.

The home games are played in the Elly-Heuss-Knapp Gymnasium Bad Cannstatt .

hockey

The club's women's team was one of the most successful teams in the sport in the hall. In 1963 she won the championship title for the first time and became the record champion in defending her title the following year. After winning further titles in 1967, 1968, 1969, 1970 and 1971, she held this title until 2004, when the Rüsselsheim RK overtook the team with its eighth title. In 1983 the team was one of the founding members of the indoor hockey Bundesliga , but rose from the upper house at the end of the 1985/86 season. Soon after, the club disbanded its hockey division.

tennis

As every year, the 2009 Porsche Tennis Grand Prix took place in the neighboring Porsche Arena . The tennis hall of the ESV Rot Weiß Stuttgart is only 50 meters away. In order to offer the participating players the same warm-up conditions as in the Porsche Arena, the same sand is used in the hall.
