Red Synagogue (Joniškis)

The so-called Red Synagogue in Joniškis , a city in northern Lithuania , was built in 1865.

The derelict synagogue in the style of historicism has been a protected cultural monument since 1970 .

After the Second World War , the building was used for different purposes. In 2004 a storm caused the roof to collapse.

The brick masonry synagogue building was rebuilt by 2015 and a museum on Jewish history in the region was set up in it.
