Roth Racing
Roth Racing was a team of the IndyCar Series and Indy Lights Series , which was owned by the driver Marty Roth .
The team was formed in 2004 when Roth bought the Indy Lights equipment from Panther Racing and started some races in the series. He also bought an IndyCar chassis to take part in the Indianapolis 500 . Roth was eliminated in Indianapolis from the race; also in 2005 , when the car was used together with PDM Racing . In 2006 , he couldn't even qualify for the race. From now on, however, the strategy was changed, so that Marty Roth also appeared in a few other races in the remaining 2006 season and in the 2007 season. At the end of the 2007 season, two cars were at the start, the second was driven by PJ Chesson .
In the 2008 season , the team competed with two cars in the first races. Second driver alongside Marty Roth was initially Jay Howard , who was replaced by John Andretti for the Indianapolis 500 in 2008 . Andretti clearly drove the fastest laps of the team in Indy. After Indianapolis, Jay Howard was supposed to return to the second car, but Andretti stayed at the four following events. However, he refused a firm contract until the end of the season. At Watkins Glen , Jay Howard was once again behind the wheel of the second car; since then the team has only raced one car.
After the 2009 season , the team closed its doors. The mechanics partly switched to Conquest Racing , which started using another car in 2009. The equipment was sold to the FAZZT Race Team , which started using a car for Alex Tagliani from 2010 . But FAZZT is no longer active today, the team was sold to Sam Schmidt Motorsports in 2011 , which is still active today as the IndyCar.
