Rotraud of Kulessa

Rotraud von Kulessa (born August 13, 1966 in Stade ) is a German Romance studies and literary scholar .

life and work

Von Kulessa graduated from high school in Burgdorf in 1986, after which she completed an apprenticeship as a bank clerk. In 1988 she finally began studying German and French to become a teacher, which she completed in 1993 with the first state examination at the Albert Ludwig University. She then began her doctorate on Françoise de Grafigny. Lettres d'une Péruvienne. Interpretation, genesis, reception , which she completed in 1996. In the meantime she worked as a lecturer at the University of Paris IV Sorbonne.

In the school year 1999/2000 the first year of her legal clerkship for teaching followed. From 2002 to 2011 she worked as a research assistant at the Romance Department of the Albert-Ludwigs-Universität Freiburg for French and Italian literary studies. While working as a research assistant, she completed her habilitation in 2008 on the subject of La position de l'autrice dans le champ littéraire en France et en Italie à l'époque 1900. Since 2011, she has been professor of Romance literature (French and Italian) at the University of Augsburg . In addition, von Kulessa is currently working as dean of studies at the Faculty of Philology and History in the university's self-administration.

Her main research interests include game theory, the concept of Querelle , immigration literature, the concept of sensibilité in French literature of the 18th century, the literary field in the 19th century, transcultural Italophonic literature of the 21st century and the female genealogies of the Renaissance to the 19th century.
