Rottach Bridge in Kempten

The Rottachbrücke is a rammed concrete bridge on the disused Kempten – Isny railway line , it is located in the Rothkreuz district of Kempten .

description

The stamped concrete bridge is located at kilometer 4.606 and is officially called "Rottachbrücke 19 at kilometer 4.606". The bridge was built in 1908 and was in use until it was closed in 1984. The viaduct is significantly smaller than its big sisters with the name Obere Illerbrücken , these are the largest of their type. The Rottachbrücke still shows the original design elements of the Upper Illerbrücken, which were removed there during renovation work. The bridge was entered in the Bavarian list of monuments after a meeting in the building committee of the Kempten city council .

The dilapidated bridge is to be rehabilitated and integrated in the future continuous rail cycle path from Kempten to Isny .
