Rothkreuz is a village and part of the independent city of Kempten (Allgäu) . Until it was reclassified to Kempten on October 1, 1934, the village was part of the rural community of Sankt Lorenz, which was formed in 1818 .

The first house in Rothkreuz was built in 1867, and in 1875 there were already seven buildings.
