Leupratsried is a hamlet and part of the independent city of Kempten (Allgäu) .
An early mention of the place was in 1374 as "Lutprandsried". The place name means clearing of the Luitprant . In 1444, the Wagegg ruler Heinrich von Eisenburg sold "Leipratzried" to a citizen of Augsburg . In 1525 the place was cremated during the German Peasants' War . A year later, the residents and landowners of Leupratsried signed the Memming Treaty .
In 1559 the prince monastery of Kempten exchanged the goods and serfs of Leupratsried for a property in Haldenwang .
In 1777 the St. Marien chapel was consecrated. In 1798 it was deserted together with Leubas .
In 1819, one year after the formation of the rural community of Sankt Mang , Leupratsried consisted of 7 properties with 30 residents, who belonged to the Leuba's main team. In 1900 there were 6 properties with 26 residents in the village.
In August 1954 a total of 47 residents lived in the hamlet. In 1972, Leupratsried was reclassified to Kempten as part of the rural community of Sankt Mang . By 1987 the population increased to 69.
