Bahnholz is a district and a wasteland of the independent city of Kempten (Allgäu) . Bahnholz goes back to Bannholz , i.e. a banned forest of a rule or municipality.
In 1394 the place was named as an overgrown small property of the prince monastery Kempten in Banholtz . In 1451 it was a monastery fiefdom. In 1589 the place was mentioned as zum Banholtz uffm Ziegelstadel . The part of the settlement beyond the municipal boundary belongs to Wiggensbach and is called Weißen . The place was attached to the rural community of Sankt Lorenz in 1818 and was subject to the parish Heiligkreuz . On July 1, 1972, Sankt Lorenz was incorporated into the city of Kempten (Allgäu).
