Wettmannsberg is a hamlet and part of the independent city of Kempten (Allgäu) .
history
The place or farm Wettmannsberg was mentioned early in 1486, when a "Hanns Hüwel" received the estate at "Wertmansperg". The Memminger Treaty of 1526 signed Wettmann Berger inhabitants. In 1527, two people each built a property that belonged to the Prince Abbey of Kempten .
The hamlet belonged to the Hauptmannschaft Lenzfried . In house statistics from around 1800, three farms were recorded, which together had an area of 186.70 days' work (63.61 hectares ):
- Weixler (83.69)
- Reichart (36.81)
- Bottler (66.20)
In 1818 Wettmannsberg was added to the newly created municipality of Sankt Mang , and statistics from one year later show 3 residential buildings and 20 residents. In 1900 26 people lived on the 3 farms. By 1954 the number rose by seven.
On July 1, 1972, Wettmannsberg was incorporated into the municipality of Sankt Mang in Kempten. On May 25, 1987 (date of the census), a total of 25 residents lived on the Wettmannsberger Höfe in 6 buildings with living space or in 10 apartments.
