Hochstraß is a hamlet and part of the independent city of Kempten (Allgäu) .
history
Before 1640 there was no evidence of a place called Hochstraß in the Kempten area. Perhaps the court group belonged to Leupolz or had another name. In 1640 a "Georg Strasser" and a "Georg Hörmann zum Strassers" were named. In 1818, Hochstraß was still called "On the high street". This is to be interpreted as a reference to the former Roman road from Leupolz to Stielings. The street was still in use in the Middle Ages .
1819 eleven people lived in "High Strasbourg" in two courtyards leading to the main team Lenzfried belonged. In 1882 a third courtyard was built.
On August 1, 1954, Hochstrasse had 15 residents. In 1972 it was reclassified as part of the municipality of Sankt Mang to Kempten.
