Neuhausen is a village in the independent city of Kempten . It is located in the district of St. Lorenz and is the second largest town after Heiligkreuz in this independent municipality until 1972 (as of the census of May 25, 1987) and has grown together with this town except for a gap of 130 meters along Augustinerstraße.

1347 goods to Nuwenhusen are mentioned. In 1451 there must have been two fiefdoms in Neuhausen ( Nüwehusen ). According to Richard Dertsch , the present form was first handed down in 1594 .

According to the house statistics around 1800, the then 15 properties of Neuhausen, including five farms, had a total area of ​​242.81 days' work or 82.73 hectares .

Neuhausen was one of the main teams from which the parish of Sankt Lorenz was formed in 1818. Some of the localities in the area of ​​the former Hauptmannschaft were separated from the Sankt Lorenz community and incorporated into the city of Kempten as early as 1935, while the rest of the community with Neuhausen was only dissolved in Kempten in 1972.

In 1987 there were 249 residents in the Neuhausen district.
