Atzenried is a hamlet in the municipality of Sankt Lorenz in Kempten (Allgäu), which was incorporated in 1972 .
history
Atzenried is mentioned from 1451 onwards as a “ Stiftkemptisches fiefdom”, “Stockmans Gut ze Atzenried”. In 1526 it is also called "Autzenried".
Atzenried belonged to the Hauptmannschaft Hirschdorf , whose area was initially incorporated into the city of Kempten in 1802 and became part of the newly formed municipality of Sankt Lorenz in 1818 , which in turn was incorporated into Kempten in 1972.
According to the house statistics around 1800, the two properties of Atzenried at that time (the Abele and Ley farms) together had an area of 58.10 days' work or 19.8 hectares .
