Haubensteig is a district of the independent city of Kempten (Allgäu) . The place was attached to the rural community of Sankt Lorenz in 1818 and came back to Kempten on October 1, 1934. There are no population figures for Haubensteig, as the place has risen up in the city of Kempten.

“Hubensteig” was mentioned in 1385 when a Heinz der Notz bought himself and his two goods for “Ahun” and “Hubenstayg” from the Kempten citizen Heinrich Künzelmann. 1451 had the Imperial Abbey of Kempten there fiefdoms . 1526/30 was called "Haugenstaig".

In the course of time the place name Haubensteig disappeared , today only the Haubensteigweg reminds of this place.

The Calgeerpark , the Carl-von-Linde-Gymnasium and a former medical center of the Bundeswehr are nearby .
