Location of Halden in Kempten (Allgäu)

Halden (also Auf der Halde or Halde ) is the official name of a district in the independent city of Kempten (Allgäu) . It is located in the north of the city near Heiligkreuz and Neuhausen as well as the districts of Breiten , Lotterberg and Thingers . To the west of the district, the name of which results from a north-south running elevation, are the Schwabelsberger Weiher .

The dump is a slope between the Rottach and the Kollerbach. Several settlements are designated as on the Halde: Schwabelsberg (see also St. Anna (Schwabelsberg) ), Stölzlings and Wegflecken.

history

Halden was mentioned in 1447 when Kunz Riedlin im Ried was allowed to use a well on the field "zur Haldun" by the monastery convent . In 1451 there was a monastery fiefdom "uff der Haldun". In 1593 there were probably two goods on the heap.

Halden belonged to the Hauptmannschaft Neuhausen , whose area came to the rural community of Sankt Lorenz in 1818 when the community was formed.

On October 1, 1934, Halden, which had two inhabitants in 1925, was removed from the rural community of Sankt Lorenz and joined together with other localities of the city of Kempten.

In May 1987, 1043 people lived in this district, spread over 466 residential units.
