Moos is a hamlet in the independent city of Kempten (Allgäu) . The place name is based on a peat deposit that was mined between 1854 and 1875 . Moos is located west of the federal motorway 7 .
One of the first mentions of the place took place in 1451. From 1453 moss is known as the property of a weaver. A weaving justice in Moos has been handed down from around 1738.
In 1819, one year after the formation of the rural community Sankt Mang , Moos consisted of 3 properties with 14 inhabitants, it belonged to the main Lenzfried team . In 1900 a total of 12 people lived in 2 properties.
