Hinterbach is a village and part of the independent city of Kempten (Allgäu) . The place is on the Kollerbach.

1394 as stiftkemptische Halbhube ze Endre Bach called, followed mention as ennend of the stream . In 1451 the village was referred to as a monastery fiefdom zr Yenderbach , which was repeated in 1527. Other spellings were Enderbach (1451) and Indrenbach (1499/1503).

The place was attached to the rural community of Sankt Lorenz in 1818 and was subject to the parish Heiligkreuz . On July 1, 1972, Sankt Lorenz was incorporated into the city of Kempten.
