The building Rottersdorfer Straße 10 is a listed residential and commercial building in Magdeburg in Saxony-Anhalt .

location

It is located on the southwest side of Rottersdorfer Straße in the Magdeburg district of Sudenburg , not far from the confluence of Rottersdorfer with Halberstädter Straße.

Architecture and history

The four-storey building was built in 1887 by master bricklayer Julius Kohtz for horse-drawn tram inspector Gottfried Kuhnert . The building was designed in the neo-renaissance style. The representative eight-axis facade is characterized by horizontal layers of yellow and red bricks. The windows on the upper floors are symmetrically arranged and spanned with triangular gables on the first floor and segmented arched gables on the second floor. There are narrow cornices at the level of the sills . Rustic plaster tape can be found on the ground floor. Both the house entrance and the shop windows on the ground floor are designed as round or basket arches .

The building has a mezzanine floor , the windows of which are designed as flat openings. There are consoles between the windows. The building is covered by a flat roof . The side and rear buildings belong to the building.

In the local register of monuments , the residential and commercial building is recorded as a monument under registration number 094 70733 .

As part of the ensemble with the neighboring Sankt-Marien-Kirche, the building is considered significant in terms of urban development. In terms of the history of the district, it is important as the historical building fabric of Sudenburg.
