Rouxantra Ntoumitreskou

Rouxantra-Kontroutsa Ntoumitreskou born Ruxandra Dumitrescu , Greek Ρουξάντρα-Κόντρουτσα Ντουμιτρεσκου or Ρούξι Ντουμιτρέσκου , (* 20th April 1977 in Galaţi , Galaţi County , Romania ) is a former Greek volleyball player with Romanian roots.

Career

Rouxantra Ntoumitreskou, who played at a height of 1.85 m on the position of the outside attacker, began her professional career in 1997 at the Athens club Vrilissia, where she played for six years. During this period, Ntoumitreskou won the championship in 1999 and twice the cup (1999, 2000) and in 1999 reached third place in the European Cup Winners' Cup . In summer 2003 Ntoumitreskou moved to the traditional club Panathinaikos Athens where she won the double in 2005, 2006, 2008 and 2010. She has been the team captain since 2007. In 2009 she was in the final of the Challenge Cup with Athens , but lost to the Italians of Vini Monteschiavo Jesi and took second place.

Rouxantra Ntoumitreskou was an integral part of the Greek national team and took part in the 2004 Olympic Games in Athens . She finished ninth with her team.
