Royal Brunei Airlines flight 238 was an international scheduled flight of the Royal Brunei Airlines from Bandar Seri Begawan to Miri , on which a Dornier Do 228-212 crashed on a mountain on September 6, 1997 . There were no survivors among the eight passengers and two crew members.

Flight history

The Dornier Do 228-212 took off from Bandar Seri Begawan at 19:03 local time (13:03 CET). The crew asked air traffic control for the final approach. The responsible air traffic controller granted the crew permission to land on runway 2, but received no response from the pilots. The Dornier Do 228 crashed on the slope of a mountain at an altitude of 500 meters, 14 kilometers from the airport. The wreck was only discovered the next morning. All ten inmates died in the accident.
