The Royal Geographical Society Islands ( Royal Geographical Society Islands ) are a small group of islands and part of the Canadian-Arctic archipelago . They are located in Victoria Strait between Victoria Island in the northwest and King William Island in the east. They are separated from the latter by the Alexandra Strait . The Royal Geographical Society Islands consist of two larger and numerous smaller islands. The two main islands are Royal Geographical Society Island with an area of ​​458.1 km² and to the northeast of it MacClintock Island with 155.1 km². Scott Keltie Island is located between the two main islands .

The archipelago, named after the British Royal Geographical Society , was discovered in the spring of 1905 by Roald Amundsen's expedition on the Gjøa , which conquered the Northwest Passage for the first time from 1903 to 1906 .
