Royal Atomia Brussels is a former Belgian basketball club from Brussels .
history
The club was founded as Maccabi in Etterbeek and won the Belgian cup competition in 1984 and 1988. As Royal Atomia you also took part in European club competitions in the 1990s, so in 1992/93 and 1998/99 in the Korać Cup and after another victory in the Belgian cup competition 1995 also in the Saporta Cup 1995/96. After economic difficulties, the club was released from the closed top division Ethias League in 2007 . The competitive sports activities in Brussels basketball then concentrated on the club Excelsior Brussels , which played in the third division.
