Ruben Wickenhauser

Ruben Philipp Wickenhäuser (* 1973 in Berlin ) is a German writer.

Life

He studied history, zoology and physical anthropology at several universities (with a master's degree from the University of Mainz) and since 1996 has mainly published Indian books and historical novels for young people and adults, as well as non-fiction. Since 2004 he has given readings with an extensive supporting program (slides, replicas, soundscapes) at schools and libraries.

In 2002 he initiated the historical novel Quo Vadis group of authors together with Titus Müller . In 2005 he founded together with the criminologist Dr. Frank J. Robertz the Independent Institute for Violence Prevention and Applied Criminology (IGaK). He has been part of the Perry Rhodan NEO series of authors since 2018.

Since 2006 he has been particularly committed to the sport of jugger, for which he oversaw the first German regulations until 2012, introduced jugger in Sweden and brought the annual international sports festival Järnsvenskan into being; He also publishes extensive sports tutorials and discussions about juggers on YouTube.

In 2014 he became an honorary member of the Jugger e. V., the world's first youth club.

In 2014 he was honored as "Årets Järnboåsare" for his commitment in the Swedish town of Järnboås.

In 2016 the city of Nora awarded him the "Årets föreningsledare" award for his involvement in Jugger sports.
