history

The nationwide circle of authors was founded in 2002 by Ruben Philipp Wickenhäuser and Titus Müller . Its primary purpose was to enable its members to exchange experiences and, in addition to mailing lists and discussion forum, also offered participation in anthologies and community novels as well as personal exchange at regional meetings. The highlight was the "Historica", the annual general meeting, which took place with a reading night and a supporting program in a different city of historical importance.

In 2004, the Aufbau Verlag published the first joint work in the form of a novel by twelve authors: The Seven Heads . In 2006 the novel The twelfth day , which was thematically set in England in the 12th century and was written jointly by twelve authors, was also published by Aufbau Verlag and in 2008 by the same publisher the Limes novel The Third Sword .

At the 2006 annual meeting on the occasion of the Literature Days in Schwäbisch Hall, two literary prizes were awarded for the first time, alternating every two years. The “Sir Walter Scott Prize” was the author's group's literary prize for outstanding German-language historical novels and was divided into gold, silver and bronze laurels. The Quo-Vadis Short Story Prize was awarded for a themed historical short story.

The circle of authors dissolved in 2014.
