Ilka Stitz (born October 22, 1960 in Hanover ) is a journalist and author of historical crime novels .

Life

She lives and works in Cologne . Together with Karola Hagemann , she forms the Hagemann & Stitz team of authors, who also publish under the pseudonym “Malachy Hyde”. So far, the duo has published six novels and five short stories.

She studied art history , German and classical archeology in Göttingen and Cologne . Her interest in Roman history, but above all numerous trips to ancient sites in Turkey, gave the impetus to write. Their stories combine historical facts with fictional criminal acts. Since 2010 she has also published novels and short stories on her own initiative. The subject of her novels "Wer Fortuna trotzt" (antiquity) and "Harzblut" (late Middle Ages) is u. a. historical mining, which she has been involved in for many years.

Since 2014 she works u. a. for the online magazine Histojournal, writes book reviews, articles and conducts interviews with authors of historical novels.

Ilka Stitz is a member of the Cologne-Düsseldorf crime committee , the group Das Syndikat and the group of authors Quo Vadis , which disbanded in 2014.
