Elke Achtner-Theiss

Elke Achtner-Theiss (* 1951 ) is a German journalist and non-fiction author and - under the pseudonym Ella Theiss - the author of detective novels .

Live and act

After studying German and sociology with a Magister Artium degree , she did a traineeship and then worked as an editor at the Frankfurter Rundschau . Afterwards she was the chief editor within the community work of Protestant journalism in the EKD .

Later, she worked primarily in the food and ecology sector as a journalist and non-fiction author - she worked as a freelance editor for BioHandel and ReformhausKURIER (editor-in-chief) and as editor-in-chief of the natural food magazine Schrot & Korn . In addition, she published numerous articles in the Berliner Zeitung , the Kölner Stadt-Anzeiger , the North Hessian Transport Association , under oekolandbau.de ( BÖLN ) and in the Öko-Test magazine.

Since 2006 she has published several short stories in anthologies under the pseudonym Ella Theiss and since 2009 three crime novels, which have received numerous reviews from literary critics, such as: As the Focus , the side of the track to the "five best thrillers of the summer 2012" was one. She has also been nominated several times for literary prizes and was awarded 2nd place at the Gerhard Beier Prize 2010 for her debut novel The Devil's Spit .

Elke Achtner-Theiss or Ella Theiss is a member of the syndicate and of the Murderous Sisters . She lives near Darmstadt , is married, has two grown daughters and three grandchildren.
