Claudia Schmid

Claudia Schmid (born August 2, 1960 in Passau ) is a German author. She writes historical writings, crime stories, travelogues, plays and radio plays.

Life

After graduating from high school in Bavaria, Claudia Schmid studied German and business administration at the University of Mannheim, graduating with a Magister Artium . Schmid is a member of the group of authors of German-language crime literature Das Syndikat . She lives with her family in Mannheim in the Rhine-Neckar metropolitan region .

Schmid is particularly interested in historical topics. In short stories she dealt with Karl Drais , Peter Henlein and Kaspar Hauser . She dedicated the novel The Burning Letters to the life of the South German reformer Paul Fagius . Schmid mixes the historical with the fictional and sends the Heidelberg artist Quirin Melchior on a journey through time, during which he becomes the companion of the historical person Paul Fagius.

With Martin Luther and Philipp Melanchthon: Die Feuerschreiber she wrote a historical novel about the fathers of the Reformation.

In her cultural travel guide 66 favorite places in the Passau region and 11 breweries she gives insights into this region and also tells her own experiences.
