Wolfgang Mock

Wolfgang Mock (born January 2, 1949 in Kassel ) is a German journalist and writer .

Life

Wolfgang Mock completed a degree in history and German studies ; In 1981 he received his doctorate from the University of Düsseldorf with a thesis on British imperialism before the First World War . He then worked for five years as a research assistant at the German Historical Institute in London . After a stay in Lisbon he settled in Düsseldorf as a journalist ; the focus of his work is on reporting on economic and industrial policy issues. Mock was the editor of the weekly newspaper VDI nachrichten , the newspaper of the VDI .

In addition to his scientific and journalistic work, Mock writes narrative prose. In 2008 he received the Sir Walter Scott Prize for the historical novel Simplon .
