Rudé právo of September 21, 1920

Rudé právo ("Red Law") was the central organ of the Communist Party of Czechoslovakia .

It was founded after the clashes between the Social Democrats and the Communists. Its first edition appeared on September 21, 1920. The long-time editor-in-chief was Oldřich Švestka .

During the time of socialist Czechoslovakia it was the newspaper for the Czech part; the Slovak counterpart was Pravda ("truth").

After the Velvet Revolution in the autumn of 1989, the editorial staff renounced the communists. From 1991 the successor sheet of the same name appeared, the name of which was changed to Právo ( law ) on September 18, 1995 .
